Miceli, Radil QB Tamdem Fuels Eagles

Back in the win column the (9-2) Eagles had one more loss to avenge as they took on the (4-7) Chargers, as both squads readied themselves for the JCC of Bayonne Indoor Flag Football Sr. Division’s “Championship Tournament.” Starting off like two wary heavy weight prize fighters, it took over twenty minutes for someone to find the endzone as the Eagles made it 6-0 on a Matt Miceli to Jacob Kowal TD toss. Putting the scoring back on hold, the Chargers, led by Tristen Johnson, Harsh Easwar and Chris Balance, found themselves in a defensive quagmire with the Eagles and their ballhawkers Damon Taylor, Matt Miceli and Da’mien Taylor. With just over seven minutes remaining, the Chargers got on track as QB Tristen Johnson unleashed a TD Strike and a two point dart to Ryan Ballance as the Chargers took an 8-6 lead. Poised and ready to answer the Eagles QB tandem of Matt Miceli and Drew Radil guided the Eagles deep into Chargers territory before a Miceli to Radil TD pass put the Eagles back in front a 12-8. The game stayed heated until one more solid defensive stand gave the Eagles a hard fought 12-8 victory.

Additionally, the following players were recognized as exceptional players for the Sr. Division, Week 9:
Offensive Player of the week – Jacob Kowal – Eagles
Defensive Player of the week – Damon Taylor – Eagles
Teamwork/ Leadership Player of the week – Harsh Easwar – Chargers
