Trailing the pack at (1-3) both the Bengals and Chargers had a chance to close the gap on the red hot (4-0) Eagles as they entered week 4 of the JCC of Bayonne Indoor Flag Football Sr. Division 2015 campaign. Setting a cautious pace, both offenses struggled in the early going with the Bengals’ Andres Giron taking advantage by returning an interception for a TD before tacking on a two point grab. Down 8-0, the Chargers got a boast as Harsh Easwar sprinted full court to cut the Bengals’ lead to 8-6. Focused on jumpstarting their running attack the Bengals made it 14-6 on a 26 yard TD run by Kasper Hooks. Two plays later, the Chargers closed the gap to 14-12 as team captain Ryan Ballance reeled in a 30 yard TD toss from QB Chris Ballance. Staring at the Chargers in their rear view mirror, the Bengals kicked into high gear with two full court TD gallops by Andres Giron, a two point catch by Ian Giron and a two point safety as the Bengals built a 30-12 advantage. Needing a spark, the Chargers seemed to be back on track as Ryan Ballance pilfered an errant pass to set up his second TD catch making it 30-18, Bengals. Staying the course, the Bengals stretched their lead to 38-18 on another Andres Giron TD and two point snare. Down by 20 points, the Chargers had their chances to rack up some points as the elusive Matt Piscopi continuously worked free in the Bengals’ secondary. With brother Matt stretching the “D”, it was Mike Piscopi who cashed in with a diving TD catch followed by a Chris Ballance two point burst. UP 38-26, the Bengals finally slammed the door as Andres Giron notched his fifth TD of the bout while Kyle Arano capped the 46-26 victory with a two point connection.
