Thirty years of service

To the Editor:

On Sunday, November 8, 2015, the Windmill Alliance, Inc. celebrated 30 years of service to our intellectually disabled adults by honoring five individuals for their vision and continued support of its mission. The brunch was held at the Chandelier in Bayonne and included a silent auction of artwork created by the participants of the Windmill Day Program through the supervision of Jim and Jill Pustorino, operators of Victory Hall Drawing Rooms in Jersey City.
The honorees were Mr. Ted Garelick, Dr. Doreen DiDomenico, The Rev. Gerard A. Pisani, Jr., Ms. Bali Macchio, and Ms. Kathy DeMaria. Due to a scheduling conflict, The Rev. Gerard Pisani was honored earlier at the Trinity Parish Annual Dinner on October 24 at Villa Maria. There was a moment of silence to honor Alice Kulik, Collette Quinn, and Paulette Sinopoli, founding staff members, and Mr. William Feinberg, a longstanding member of the Advisory Board of the Windmill Alliance and a staunch supporter of its mission.
Major sponsors of the brunch were Investors Bank, BCB, CarePoint, Ken’s Marine, and Harrington’s Auto Repair. We would also like to acknowledge all businesses and individuals who attended and/or helped to sponsor our journal ad booklet, parents and families of our participants, and our staff. Special thanks go to the planning team: Kathy DeMaria, Doreen DiDomenico, Staci Dittrich, Phyllis Garelick, Tish Kraszyk, Mary LoSardo, Nancy Policastro, Joann Tassone-Dost, and Jane Wiadzionek.
