Taylor Ignites Eagles Win

Boasting a (3-0) record, the Eagles got all they could handle as they faced the (1-2) Bengals in a JCC of Bayonne Indoor Flag Football Sr. Division showdown. Falling behind 14-0, the Eagles’ defense had no answer for the league’s leading speedster Andres Giron as Giron tallied TDs by ground and through the air. Also contributing was Kyle Arano who gave up his QB chores and tacked on an extra point grab. Clearly frustrated by their lethargic start, the Eagles fired back with a goal to goal TD howitzer to Jacob Kowal and after Drew Radil’s two point run the Eagles seemed back on track trailing by just 6 at 14-8. The Eagles had little time to enjoy the moment as the Bengals answered one play later as Andres Giron torched the court on a full court TD gallop followed by Ian Giron’s acrobatic two point catch making it 22-8, Bengals. In search of a spark, the Eagles found their man as Matt Miceli hit Drew Radil with a coast to coast missile making it 22-14, Bengals. After a few more halftime adjustments, the Eagles hit their stride as Damon Taylor notched two TDs and a two point catch while Jacob Kowal added a 35 yard TD dash. With their offense clicking, the Eagles’ defense got into the act as Da’mien Taylor and the fleet footed Jacob Kowal swarmed the Bengals’ ballcarrier for a two point safety as the Eagles fought back for a decisive 36-22 come from behind victory.
