A funeral mass was performed Nov. 3 at St. John the Baptist Church, Jersey City, for Betty L. McGrath, 78. She died suddenly Oct. 30 at her home. Born in Irvington, the daughter of the late Ella (O’Kane) and Frederick Ubhaus, she lived in Jersey City the last 73 years. She was a tax collector and assessor for the Jersey City Dept. of Taxation for over30 years before retiring. She was the wife of the late Robert J. McGrath; mother of Scott McGrath and Kelly Swiencki and her husband Chris; grandmother of Molly and Robert; sister of Patricia McKenna and Jack Ubhaus and his wife Eleanor; sister-in-law of Marie Mezey and Emil Jasovsky; friend of Ron Israelski. Betty is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Services arranged by the Greenville Memorial Home, Jersey City.
