Dear Editor:
Daylight Savings Time will end Sunday, November 1, 2015 at 2:00 a.m. and Eastern Standard Time will begin. All clocks will have to be set one hour back (fall back). So while everyone is adjusting and/or resetting the clocks, it is highly recommended that the batteries in our smoke detectors and carbon monoxide detectors be replaced.
Having a functioning smoke detector in the home, where it can be heard while you sleep, for early detection of any fire can literally mean the difference between life and death. The same can be said for carbon monoxide detectors. So, changing the batteries regularly in these life saving devices only makes sense. Too many times it is tragically reported that these devices were inoperable.
Working detectors are proven to save lives!
Thank You,
John Dorman
