To the Editor:
If one was to visit West New York and mention football, Joe Coviello is highly praised. In Jersey City with basketball, it would be Bob Hurley. With the tennis courts at BHS dedication, the honor goes to Bill Broderick.
Bill’s blood, sweat, and tears merited international acclaim (England), national recognition (Hall of Fame), and locally (ceremony) all honoring Bill as a distinguished coach, inspirational teacher, and exquisite individual.
Yes, it was a long time coming. Still, it was well worth the wait in every regard. The parents, faculty, graduates, and family had the opportunity by their presence to show their thanks for Bill’s “being there … always for them.”
The Bayonne school system is a shining example of the quality, sensitivity, and conscientiousness in our community.
