A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Oct. 1 at St. Joseph’s Church for Carmella Costanza, 77. She passed away surrounded by her family on Sept. 27. Carmella was born in Jersey City and was a lifelong resident. She was a beautician employed by Stella Rose Beauty Parlor in Jersey City for many years. Carmella also worked in the catering business and supervised the lunch program at St. Joseph’s Church as well as the entire kitchen and food preparation for the annual church carnival for 41 years. Carmella was predeceased by her husband John G. Costanza and her sister, Mickey Serpica. She is survived by her children, John Costanza and his wife Toni, Antoinette Manzetti and her husband Jerry, and Gina Martinelli; sisters, Louise Cooney, Mary Sobel and Jennie Aurillo; grandchildren, Michael and John Costanza, Nicole and Danielle Manzetti and Michael Martinelli. Carmella is also survived by brothers in law, Eugene Serpica and Armenio Aurillo and many nieces, nephews and friends. Services arranged by the McLaughlin Funeral Home, Jersey City.
