Bayonne Bridge weekend closure shortened due to storm preparation

BAYONNE – In preparation for inclement weather, this weekend’s scheduled closure of the Bayonne Bridge will be shortened to include only the Friday, Oct. 2 overnight, the Port Authority of New York & New Jersey has announced.
The closure will accommodate ongoing construction work on the “Raise the Roadway” project.
The Bayonne Bridge will close at 11:59 p.m. Oct. 2 and will reopen at 8 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 3.
The Bayonne Bridge shuttle service, which provides alternate transportation for pedestrians and bicyclists, will operate from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 3 and Sunday, Oct. 4.
During the week, the bridge is closed from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day and overnight from 8:30 p.m. to 5 a.m.
