In the season opener played at Hudson County Park, Sicilian Club was able to hold off Bayonne Exterminating for a 4-0 win. The game started off with both teams battling for early control, with Bayonne Exterminating controlling most of the beginning of the first half. Sicilian Club was able to hold off early shots with good defense anchored by George Brattole, and a couple of key saves by Isaac Young with his first ever start in goal. First half goals were scored by Justin Rosado and Anthony Ward to give Sicilian Club the lead going into the half.
Sicilian Club was able to hold off even more pressure by Bayonne Exterminating in the second half with Anthony Ward in goal. Tough defense by Justin Rosado, Bobby Meissner, Owen Sanchez & Zachary Taylor was also a factor for Sicilian Club in the half. Nico Chiaravolloti scored midway through the half, and Isaac Young was able to score the final goal of the game.
It was a very impressive game from some newcomers as well, including Chandramauli Singh, Keiron Yap, and Freddy Dyar. Heavily contributing to the all around team win were Edgar Martinez, Cody Strausser, Kirollos Agaybe and Jaden Cipriano-Goines.
Next game for Sicilian Club will be on September 20 at 3 p.m. at Hudson County Field #4 South against T Wolf Contracting.
