Private funeral services have been held for Dennis J. Tuohy, Jr., 81, of Port Monmouth. He died Aug. 31 peacefully at home. He was born in Jersey City and lived in Port Monmouth for 51 years. Dennis was a Jersey City Fireman for 30 years, retiring in 1990. Dennis served his country in the United States Army from 1956 to 1958. Surviving are his wife of 54 years, Marilyn Tuohy; three sons, Dennis J. Tuohy, III and his wife Jeannie; Gerard and Keith Tuohy; daughter Susan Farrant and son-in-law Jim Farrant; two brothers, James and Thomas Tuohy; and a sister, Bernice Lamb. Dennis had eight grandchildren. Dennis was preceded in death by his daughter, Lisa Peterman and daughter-in-law Wendy Tuohy. Services arranged by the John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, Middletown.
