“The weather is beautiful and it feels wonderful to host this event once again,” said Gerri Fallo, Hoboken’s Coordinator of Cultural Affairs. “There’s always a couple hundred people that come out for a great way to end the summer,”
According to Fallo, the event was first held on the 150th anniversary of Hoboken’s founding in 2005. During the planning for that sesquicentennial commemoration, someone said the city had thrown a pasta dinner on Washington Street for the city’s 100th anniversary in 1955. So the city chose to revive the event on Hoboken’s revamped waterfront, which provides dazzling views of the Manhattan skyline.
Paterson caterer, the Brownstone catered the block party and proceeds from drink sales benefited the Hoboken Volunteer Ambulance Corps.
