JERSEY CITY — New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) officials today are reminding motorists the Pulaski Skyway will be closed in both directions this weekend for the replacement of floor beams as the rehabilitation of the historic 83-year-old bridge advances.
Beginning at 9 p.m. Friday, July 10, through 5 a.m. Monday, July 13, NJDOT’s contractor, CCA Civil Inc. is scheduled to close the Pulaski Skyway southbound at the off-ramp to I-280/Route 7 and Route 1&9 southbound for the installation of new floor beams, new deck panels and other related work.
The full closure includes most on and off ramps, including the southbound on ramp from Tonnele Circle.
The ramp from the Skyway to I-280/Route 7 and Route 1&9 southbound will remain open.
Due to the temporary installation of metal plates on the Skyway, motorcycles are strongly advised to find an alternate route or use extreme caution when traveling on the southbound lanes of the Pulaski Skyway when it is open.
This is the eighth scheduled full weekend closure of the Skyway. NJDOT has created a video that shows options for alternate routes to help motorists navigate the closures, which can be found on the NJDOT YouTube channel .
