94, a lifelong resident of Bayonne, passed away June 27, 2015. He was wounded in World War II while serving in the U.S. Army Infantry, earning a Purple Heart, Bronze Star, The Distinguished Service Medal and other awards before he returned to the U.S. and worked for 20 years as a welder and manager at The Kellogg Propane Company and spent several years at The Concrete Plank Company in North Arlington, before he retired. He was the husband of the late Alice (nee: Greene) Maita and the father of Bertha Marie Gaffney and her husband, James; Linda Esposito and husband, John; and Patricia Savo and her husband, Michael. He was a grandfather and great-grandfather to many. He was pre-deceased by his brothers Carmen and Salvatore Maita; and is survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and friends.
