SECAUCUS – Representatives from Secaucus nonprofit The Hygiene Project competed in New Jersey Students in Action (NJSIA) with other NJ high schools and earned the 2015 Silver Service Leadership School designation.
The 2015 Hygiene Project team consisted of advisor Cathy Wolf and seven high school students from Secaucus High School and High Tech High school: Angelo Dimondo, Desiree Codog, Zach Canonico, Ayush Singh, Alessandra Tringali, Aman Ramnani, and Raymond Ramos.
The Hygiene Project members attended NJSIA service leadership workshops in the fall and winter of the 2014-15 school year. Hygiene Project formed a 2015 NJSIA team in February and competed against other NJ high schools in April.
The NJSIA leadership program was launched in 2006 by the Jefferson Awards Foundation and Deloitte and has since expanded to 300 high schools and communities across the U.S. Students in Action develops high school students into community leaders, empowering them to think big, choose their own public service passion, engage their entire school and broader communities, and create maximum impact.
