WEST NEW YORK – A 19-year-old man was fatally shot in the head on July 1, according to a report issued by the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office.
Police responded to 427 53rd St. at about 12:20 a.m. on a report of shots being fired and a male down.
The Prosecutor’s Office said police arrived on the scene to find the male on the ground with an apartment gunshot wound to his head. The male was pronounced dead at the scene at about 12:35 a.m.
The shooting is being actively investigated by the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Homicide Unit with the assistance of the West New York Police Department, said Gene Rubino, spokesperson for the Prosecutor’s Office.
The motive has not yet been determined, and no arrests have yet been made.
The victim’s name is being withheld pending notification of his next of kin.
