2nd annual Summer Green Health Fair is June 20
The Township of North Bergen, the North Bergen Municipal Utilities Authority, and the Township’s Health Department are set to host the second annual Summer Green Health Fair on Saturday, June 20 from noon until 4 p.m. at the 64th Street Field.
“Last year the Summer Green Health Fair was a total success,” said Mayor Nicholas Sacco. “We encourage all of our residents to come out once again this year and join us to learn more about the environment and how they can improve their family’s health.”
The event will include free giveaways, live music, blood pressure and diabetes screenings, cholesterol screenings, the North Hudson Regional Fire & Rescue Fire Safety House, L.E.A.D., bicycle, boat, and car safety information, animal care education, Adopt-a-Pet, organic farmers, eco-presenters, green vendors, face painting, a bee keeper demonstration, arts and crafts, paper shredding, a bouncy house, and more.
High School graduation ceremony at Bruins Stadium on June 24
North Bergen High School will hold their 2015 senior graduation ceremony at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, June 24. The ceremony will be at Bruins Stadium in James J. Braddock North Hudson Park.
Welcome the summer solstice on June 21
Celebrate the sun on the longest day of the year, June 21, from noon to 1:30 p.m. at the Meadowlands Environment Center, 2 DeKorte Park Plaza, Lyndhurst. The free program starts with a brief discussion of the scientific and cultural significance of the solstice, followed by a short walk to the Lyndhurst Nature Reserve to enjoy the outdoors and give thanks when the sun reaches its peak at 12:38 p.m. Participants will each take home a craft kit to make their own sun catchers. Register for the Children’s Summer Reading Club at the library
The North Bergen Library will soon be holding its annual Children’s Summer Reading Club. Register at the Children’s Desk in the Main Library or the Circulation Desk at the Kennedy Branch. Get a prize for every goal reached. Reading Club will kick off with ice cream parties at both branches. The parties will be on Wednesday, June 24 at 1:30 p.m. at both locations. Tennis camp registration for kids upcoming
Summer Tennis Camp registration for boys and girls ages 9 to 14 will take place June 25 from 6 to 8 p.m. and June 26 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The program will run Tuesdays and Thursdays from June 30 to July 23.
Registrants must bring proof of residence, birth certificate, and registration fee of $35 to North Bergen Recreation, 6300 Meadowview Ave. Limited to first 75 children.
Sign up for summer programs at the library
Mayor Nicholas Sacco, Library Director Sai Rao, and the board of trustees are pleased to announce the library’s annual summer programs for both the Main Library and the Kennedy Branch. Registration begins on Monday, June 29 at 9 a.m. and programs will begin Monday, July 6.

Free yoga in Braddock Park every Tuesday and Friday
Free yoga takes place in Braddock Park every Tuesday from 6 to 7 p.m. and every Friday from 8 to 9 a.m. Rain or shine. Come to James J. Braddock North Hudson Park Environmental Center 10 minutes before start time.

Summer schedule announced for movies in the parks
Come out to Hudson County’s Movies in the Parks on Wednesday and Friday nights this July and August at six different parks in Hudson County. These events are presented by Hudson County Executive Thomas A. DeGise and the Board of Chosen Freeholders.
