A memorial service will be announced for Elsie Adelheidi Lawrora, 80, of North Bergen. She passed away May 23. She was born in Passaic to Karl Gakstetter and Alwin Jauch and lived most of her life in Jersey City and North Bergen. Elsie worked for Stern’s Department Store in NY then for Schuetzen Park in North Bergen and finally in the bail unit for the Hudson County Court House in Jersey City before retiring. Elsie was wife to John Lawrora for over 50 years. She is survived by her cousin Dr. Karl H. Perzin and many relatives in Schwenningen, Germany. Elsie assisted her husband in publishing Die Eekboon Newspaper for over 12 years as well as working for the Plattdeusche Volk Fest Verein of NY/NJ.
