MEADOWLANDS – Camels and ostriches will take to the track at Meadowlands Racing & Entertainment on Friday, June 12 for the 4th Annual Camel & Ostrich Derby. The track will also host world renowned belly dancer Amira Mor and her troupe for this unusual night.
The camel and ostrich races will take place during live harness racing. The ostriches will battle it out after Race 3 with an approximate post time of 8:10 p.m. and the camels will take their marks after Race 8 with an approximate post time of 10 p.m.
Live harness racing will commence at 7:15 p.m. and fans can test their luck in the Horseplay charity event beginning at 6 p.m. Buy a horse for $1 and throw it into a passing car for a chance to win $100 and entry into the Aug. 8 drawing for a 2015 Scion FRS. All proceeds in the month of June will be donated to the USA Pour Tour for Cancer Research.
