Feeley, Bajor kick start Penguins victory

Facing an uphill battle all season, things didn’t get any easier for the (0-7) Islanders as they faced the (6-0) Penguins in their JCC of Bayonne Sr. Division Floor Hockey regular season finally. Falling behind 4-zip, the Islanders fell prey to pinpoint passing and scoring blasts by Megan Feeley (1) and James Bajor (3) for the Penguins. Hoping to slow the avalanche, the Islanders got on the board as Julian Giron assisted Jake Peregrin on a twenty foot net jet. Up 4-1, the Penguins ruled the stretch run as goals by Jared Radil (1) and Drew Radil (3) put the Pens ahead 8-1. With their offense rolling, the Penguins’ defense came up rock solid as goalie Matt Doyle stayed undefeated at net while Caitlin Feeley and Alejandro Cifuentes kept the defensive zone swept clean. Knowing “new life” was in the waiting, the Islanders turned their attention to prepping for their playoff bout as J. P. Egan, Harsh Easwar, ad Elliott Santana coached up the ranks until the final whistle. Moving to (7-0) with their 8-1 victory, the Penguins face one more regular season roadblock as they face the (4-3) Devils who have had the Pens on the ropes in their first three meetings.
