Entering week five of the JCC of Bayonne’s Jr. Division Floor Hockey 2015 season, the (6-0) Blackhawks and the (0-6) Bruins might seem to be two teams going in opposite directions but that’s not the case. Playing shorthanded for most of the season, the Bruins are finally back to full force and ready to make a move for the playoffs. The Blackhawks opened the scoring as Edward Denne assisted Sebastian Valles on the first of his seven goals. Answering quickly, the Red Wings made it 1-1 on a Michael Egan net stinger. See-sawing to a 7-7 tie, the Blackhawks plowed along with Dylan Subacz (1goal, 3 assists), Edward Denne (4 assists), Toni Rivada (1 assist), and Valles (6 goals) setting the pace while the Red Wings countered with Michael Egan (2 goals, 4 assists), Andres Giron (3 goals, 1 assist), Michael McCollum (1 goal, 1 assist), and Roman Popowski (1 goal, 1 assist) to fuel the quest. On the brink of facing their first defeat, the Blackhawks needed to land the final blow and Sebastian Valles answered the call by netting his seventh goal of the game as the “Hawks” escaped with an 8-7 win.
