Memorial Day-let us never forget!

Dear Editor:
With the upcoming Memorial Day upon us let us take a moment to recall all who had left Hoboken in the service of their country and never returned.
We have some beautiful monuments thru out our mile square to remind us of their sacrifice – our Four Chaplains monument at 4th and Garden St., The great WWII at Sinatra Park memory of some 165 who never came back, the great multi statue at Elysian Park, our Vietnam monument for our 9 young Hobokenites and the great bolder rock at Pier A which was brought back on ship as ballast weight that brought back bodies of service men from France WWI – someone at our local Hoboken Knights of Columbus recognized what a trophy this would be.
Yes a General John Pershing proclaimed – Heaven, Hell, or Hoboken.
Thank a Vet.
