Grand Marshal Glen Flora to lead Bayonne Memorial Day Parade

BAYONNE – Commander Glen Flora of the World War I Post 226, Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States of America, is the 2015 Bayonne Memorial Day Parade grand marshal and will lead the event when it steps off from Broadway and Fifth Street on Monday, May 25 at 10:30 a.m.
Flora served during the Vietnam era and received the State of New Jersey Distinguished Service Medal, the Hudson County Distinguished Service Medal, and the City of Bayonne Citation.
He is a life member of VFW Post 226, and its commander since 2005.
Flora is also the founder of the post’s Veterans Museum, which has been an active educational institution for youth and the community since 2006.
A wreath-laying ceremony will be held prior to the parade at 10 a.m. at Fifth and Dodge streets.
The parade will progress up Broadway, ending at 31st Street.
