FALLON, JOHN

Funeral services were held May 4 for John Fallon, 85, of Bayonne. He passed away May 3 at his home with his family at his bedside. Born in Jersey City, he resided there for many years before moving to Bayonne. Mr. Fallon was a retired Jersey City Fireman serving from 1959-1991. He was awarded the Medal of Honor from the Jersey City Fire Department on Nov. 13, 1960 after rescuing 2 children in a fire on Egee Ave., Jersey City.
He was a Navy Veteran serving during the Korean War. He was a member of the Exempt Firemens, The Fireman Relief Assoc., the Retired Hudson County Fire and Police Assoc. and the Korean War Vets.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Dorothy (nee: Paradine); his children. Kathleen and John Fallon and his wife, Anne; his grandchildren; Brittany Marie and John Patrick Fallon, and his sister, Helen Thompson; his in laws , Edward Paradine, Patricia Clappsy, Bud and Kay Paradine and William and Elizabeth Paradine. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews He was predeceased by his siblings; Julia Calichio, Rachel Loughlin, and James Fallon. Services arranged by the Bayonne Memorial Home, Bayonne.
