Under pristine skies, thousands descended on Hoboken for the 2015 Spring Arts & Music Festival this past Sunday, determined to get the most out of the event’s raft of possibilities. Visitors did the cha-cha slide in the children’s play area off of Third Street, got their faces painted, chowed down at a panoply of ethnic food stands, and browsed blocks of photography, paintings, sculpture, and crafts.
The festival’s 20-plus musical acts ran the gamut from the Hoboken Junior Senior High School Rockin’ Redwings marching band to J. Geils Band frontman Peter Wolf, who stalked the Observer Highway stage with the confident economy of a jungle cat. Wolf played bluegrass hits as well as top 40 favorites such as “Love Stinks,” “Give It to Me,” and “Must of Got Lost.”
