Valles, Rivada keep Blackhawks on track

Still in search of their first victory, the (0-2) Bruins took on the league leading (2-0) Blackhawks in a JCC of Bayonne Jr. Division Floor Hockey rematch. Trading goals early on, the Blackhawks’ Sebastian Valles and the Bruins’ Michael Egan each netted a pair of scoring strikes. Tied at 2-2, the Blackhawks began to pull away as Valles pumped in three more goals with Dylan Subacz (1) and Toni “The Tiger” Rivada (2) picking up the assists. Down 5-2, the Bruins started to close the gap as Roman Popowski assisted Michael “Stonewall” McCollum on a scoring dart. Well within striking range at 5-3, the Bruins kept the pressure on as Kailey Delauter made it 5-4 with her first goal of the season. Hoping to slow the Bruins’ rally, the Blackhawks sent Sebastian Valles into the defensive front to sure up the ranks. Battling through the last two minutes, it took four amazing saves by the Hawks’ goalie Edward Denne to keep the Bruins at bay and secure to Blackhawks’ 5-4 victory.
