Port Authority announces launch of blog
“Portfolio,” a new blog by the Port Authority of New York & New Jersey, has gone live and will spotlight the critical role that transportation infrastructure plays in the region.
The blog, at portfolio.panynj.gov, will take a behind-the-scenes look at the Port Authority’s airports, six tunnels and bridges, port facilities, and the PATH rail system to enhance the public’s knowledge, interest, and understanding of Port Authority facilities.
The blog also will serve as a platform from which to spotlight stories that rarely make the news, including those about Port Authority staff members who operate and maintain these facilities.
Through vintage photographs and stories from the Port Authority archives, the blog will highlight the role the agency has played for nearly a century in the New York metropolitan region.
Upcoming posts will feature content that includes customer-service amenities in airport terminals, NextGen satellite technology, smart technology on Port Authority bridges, and the replacement of George Washington Bridge cables.
In a nod to the agency’s 94-year past, the blog was named after a quarterly journal also titled Portfolio, which the agency published 25 years ago as a forum for contemporary thinking on regional, national, and international transportation issues.
