BAYONNE – The city’s five living former mayors were honored by the Rotary Club of Bayonne during a special event held Friday evening, April 17 at the Knights of Columbus hall.
Richard Rutkowski (1990 to 94), Leonard Kiczek (’94 to ’98), Joseph Doria Jr. (’98 to ’07), Terrence Malloy (’07 to ’08), and Mark Smith (’08 to ’14) were honored for their service to the city, said Rotary Club event chairwoman Janice Hall.
Kiczek, Malloy, and Smith received their special plaques at the dinner. Maribeth Doria represented her husband, unable to attend after a fall earlier in the week. Family friend Carol Trojan accepted the award for Rutkowski.
Former councilman Vincent LoRe Jr. was the night’s emcee and added humor to the proceedings.
