A funeral mass was offered April 13 at St. Francis RC Church, Hoboken, for Lester L. “Skip” Rogers, 82, of North Bergen. He passed away April 8 at Palisades Medical Center surrounded by his family. A lifelong resident of North Bergen, he was a textile worker for 40 years, retiring from DFS Embroidery Corp of Guttenberg in 1997. He was an avid Brooklyn Dodgers, NY Mets, and football NY Giants fan. He was predeceased by his parents, Lester L. and Elizabeth Simek (nee: Shaw); and a sister-in-law, Antoinette “Chicky” Giancaspro. Skip will be missed by his wife, Theresa; his sons, Robert and his wife Toni, Jimmy, Ty, Robin, and Tim and his wife Dawn; his seven grandchildren; and one great grandson. He is survived by his brothers, Robert “Yogi” and his wife Joan, and Howard “Bill”; his sister-in-law, Dolores Pompilio and her husband Eugene; his brother-in-law, Antonio Giancaspro; many nieces and nephews; and great nieces and nephews.
