Port Authority announces bridge closures

BAYONNE – The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey has announced closures of the Bayonne Bridge as part of its “Raise the Roadway” project.
Multi-hour closures will be instituted on Thursday, April 16 from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. and Friday, April 17, from 11:59 p.m. to Saturday, April 18, at 11:59 p.m.
The authority also announced that beginning Monday, April 20, the new nighttime closure time will change to 8:30 p.m. for the project’s duration.
The Raise the Roadway project will elevate the span’s roadway an additional 65 feet to allow larger vessels to pass under it.
