BAYONNE – A 40-year-old city man’s leg was severed after he was struck by a car and pinned up against his United Parcel Service delivery truck in Staten Island on Monday, April 6, according to an online report.
The man was badly injured a little after 9 a.m. on the 2000 block of Hylan Boulevard after he was hit by a Toyota Camry whose driver said he had swerved to avoid hitting a pedestrian, according to a report on SILive.
The man was rushed to Staten Island University North Hospital and later transferred to Bellevue Hospital in Manhattan, the New York Post reported fire officials as saying.
No charges were filed in the incident, according to SILive.
