The funeral liturgy was performed March 21 at Evangelismos Greek Orthodox Church, Jersey City, for Eva (Evangelia) Mehos, 77, a lifelong resident of Jersey City. She passed away peacefully after a short illness on March 18 with her brother John at her side. She was the daughter of the late Chrysoula and Antonios Mehos, predeceased by brother George and recently sister-in-law Elain. Born and resided all her life in Jersey City. She is survived by her brother John, niece Crissy Ann Cleveland and husband Richard and grand nephews Stephan and Brandon. Also survived by many cousins, nieces and their families and her godson Evan. She attended and graduated from Jersey City public schools and was a graduate of Drake Business School. Employed by various companies, as private secretary, and the past twenty three years with Hudson County Cultural and Heritage Affairs a position she enjoyed until her last days of employment. A devout parishioner and supporter of Evangelismos Greek Orthodox Church, a member of “Saint Anna” Philoptochos as well as the Daughters of Penelope, Icarius 48.
