NORTH BERGEN – Coach Daniel Reardon received a proclamation at the North Bergen commissioners meeting on March 25 honoring his 400th career win with the girls’ basketball program. Reardon has been head coach for the program for 27 years and has coached more than 700 games. During his tenure, his teams have been conference champions five times and county champions three times. “I’m truly a product of North Bergen. I started at Horace Mann in kindergarten in 1956,” said Reardon. “It’s 54 years that I’ve been associated with the school system and with coaching.” He has served as a positive role model and influence for hundreds of North Bergen student athletes, as evidenced by the strong turnout of players who attended the event to applaud his proclamation. Reardon credited the support of his students and his wife with helping him to be declared cancer-free on St. Patrick’s Day after falling ill and undergoing treatment last year.
