A mass of Christian burial was held March 16 at St. Aedan’s Church for Peter John Fordi, 100, of Brick Township, formerly of Jersey City. He passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on March 11. Born in downtown Jersey City in 1914, Peter lived much of his life in the Greenville Section of Jersey City. He worked as an offset printer for various printing companies before retiring in 1978. Peter was a former member of the Sacred Heart Church Holy Name Society and Ignatius Guild. He was an avid stamp collector but what he loved most was his family. Peter loved his family and had a wonderful life full of love, good health and joy. Peter was predeceased by his wife of 72 years, Estelle Fordi and his seven siblings. He is survived by his son, Peter D. Fordi; daughters, Joyce Gumina (Michael) and Sharon Fordi Dawidowicz and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins and friends too numerous to name, but all very dear to him.
