Six new police officers sworn in

BAYONNE – Six new Bayonne police officers – all veterans – were sworn in during a ceremony in the Dorothy E. Harrington City Council Chambers on Friday, March 20, to the praise of city officials and applause of ceremony attendees.
The new officers are Christopher DeNoble, Jeffrey Kaiser, Stephen Kelly, Matthew May, Joseph McDonough, and Doaa Salama.
“I would like to thank each and every one of them for their service to our country,” said Mayor James Davis, “as they embark on becoming a Bayonne police officer and they began a new chapter of their life, from saving their country to protecting their community.”
“I know you will all serve with courage, honor, and distinction,” said City Council President Sharon Nadrowski. “I and the city of Bayonne are proud to have you.”
Salama was lauded as being the department’s first Arabic-speaking police officer. – Joseph Passantino
