Dwek, FBI informant in huge NJ political sting operation, is released from prison

HUDSON COUNTY — Solomon Dwek was released from federal prison in Cumberland, Md., this past week and is under home comfinement in Maryland, officials told the Star Ledger on Friday. Dwek became infamous for his involvement in an FBI sting operation that brought down dozens of New Jersey politicians.
In the sting, Dwek posed as a real estate developer and offered cash payments to officials and candidates in exchange for promises for their help.
Among other quarry, Dwek netted then-candidate for Hoboken mayor Peter Cammarano, who was arrested three weeks into his term in 2009.
