Support for Greaves and Desmond

To the Editor:

With the appointment of Ray Greaves and Mary Jane Desmond to the School Board the City of Bayonne can rest assured they are in good hands. They are two very capable individuals with the most political public service experience of all of us who sought the open positions. Over the past several months I have had the opportunity to speak with countless Bayonne residents looking for a change. They feel their voices are flat out ignored. I can assure you they are not. Your city government has shown a renewed interest and I will also continue to listen and reach out to you all in continuing the fight to bring your concerns to the table. These are trying times in front of us. After one short year of having a contract the security of the teachers will once again be at risk come June. Our selfless educators of the city of Bayonne deserve more security, honor, and respect. We are surrounded by public servants who reach top pay in just a few short years and on top of that are able to receive overtime. The teachers who shape the youth of our community receive neither convenience and are also facing rising benefit costs because of the actions of Governor Christie and his attacks on public servants. We need to keep our educators in the front of our minds in the coming months because they always have the children’s interests in the front of theirs. We need to continue the interest we have had since the election and never tire in voicing our opinions.
