Reporter newspapers win 14 awards for investigative reporting, ads, graphics

HUDSON COUNTY — The writers, graphic artists, and advertising account executives for the Hudson Reporter newspaper chains recently won 14 awards in the prestigious Better Newspaper Contest run annually by the New Jersey Press Association.
The staff writers won six awards for investigative and feature stories. Members of the graphics and sales staffs won eight awards for work that appeared in the Bayonne Community News and the various Reporter papers.
The newspaper chain, founded in 1983 in Hoboken, publishes eight newspapers and three local magazines. All of the stories can be found on hudsonreporter.com.
One of the biggest awards was first place for “Bayonne: Life On The Peninsula,” the company’s new lifestyle magazine for that city, which won Best New Project 2014.
