Main branch of JC library will be closed two more weeks for construction

JERSEY CITY – Officials from the Jersey City Library announced this week that the current closure of the Main Library at 472 Jersey Ave. began on Feb. 9, will be extended two additional weeks until March 1.
The additional time will be needed to complete current upgrades. The library is undergoing modernization and restoration of some of its historic elements.
The Bookmobile will be stationed in front of the Main Library.
“This delay was unforeseen, and yet, can be expected when renovating a 115-year-old building,” said Library Director Priscilla Gardner. “Please know, we are doing everything we can to keep the Main Library open to the public, when possible. We are so sorry for any inconvenience.”
The Bookmobile, will be open on Monday, Feb. 23 from 2:45 to 4:30 p.m.; Wednesday, Feb. 25, 2:45 to 4:30 p.m.; Friday, Feb. 27, 2:45 to 4:30 p.m.; Monday, March 2, 3 to 4:30 p.m.; Tuesday, March 4, 2:45 to 4:30 p.m. and Friday, March 6, 12:45 to 2:00 p.m.
