Expect wind, 2 degree temps Sunday; North Bergen and Secaucus open warming centers

HUDSON COUNTY — Even with “Fifty Shades of Grey” opening in theaters this weekend, it’s going to be pretty frigid. Expect cold temperatures, snow flurries, and wind over the next few days, according to Accuweather.
The temperatures will drop to as low as 2 degrees on Sunday, with lots of wind and possible snow flurries.
Here is some information about warming centers:

North Bergen and Secaucus to open warming centers

The North Bergen Office of Emergency Management will open three warming centers within the township starting Friday morning:
• North Bergen Public Library Main Branch, 8411 Bergenline Ave., Friday through Monday 9 a.m. – 9 p.m.
• North Bergen Public Library Kennedy Branch, 2123 Kennedy Blvd., Friday through Monday 9 a.m. – 9 p.m.
• North Bergen Recreation Center, 6300 Meadowview Ave., Friday 3 – 10 p.m. / Saturday 8 a.m. – 7 p.m. / Sunday 8 a.m. – 7 p.m. / Monday 3 – 10 p.m.
In Secaucus, the mayor and Town Council along with the Board of Health are providing the following warming stations during to the current period of heightened risk due to severe weather conditions:
• The Secaucus Public Library, 1379 Paterson Plank Rd., Monday to Friday 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. / Saturday 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. / Sunday 12 p.m. – 4 p.m. Contact Jenifer May at (201) 330-2083 for more information.
• The Senior Center, 101 Center Ave., Monday to Friday 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Contact Judy Kennelly at (201) 330- 2034 for more information.
• The Secaucus Town Hall may be available during times when the Library and Senior Center are not.
Use caution during periods of severe weather. Report any complaints of no heat, or any unsafe and unhealthy conditions, to the Secaucus Health Department at (201) 330-2031.
