Funeral mass was offered Jan. 29 at Immaculate Conception Church for Grace Tanner, 88, a lifelong resident of Secaucus. She passed away Jan. 23. She was the wife of Irving Tanner; mother of Meryl Tanner-Hill and her husband Joshua; daughter of William F. and Rose Krause who were one of the original founding families of the Town of Secaucus. Grace was predeceased by sister and brother-in-law Virginia and Jule Beharka, her brother and sister-in-law William R. and Theodora Krause and her nephew William J. Krause. Grace was a Rodeo Barrel Racing Champion with her horse Cindy, a Copa Girl in the world famous Copacabana Chorus Line, a professional ballroom dance instructor for Don Pallini Studios in NYC and later partnered and taught with her husband Irving. Grace was a New York model, a telephone operator with Martz Bus Line, a director of hospitality for America’s longest running “Passion Play” in Union City, a receptionist at Secaucus Dance Arts dance studio and a cat and dog lover.
