NORTH BERGEN – Mayor and State Sen. Nicholas Sacco, Hudson County Executive Tom DeGise and Freeholder Anthony Vainieri will officially kick off the county’s $6 million James J. Braddock Hudson County Park Improvement Project with a groundbreaking ceremony on Friday, Jan. 23 at noon.
The ceremony will be held in a field at the western edge of the park along Bergenline Avenue between 90th Street and the Kennedy Boulevard intersection, across from the Burger King restaurant.
Representing the largest county investment in Braddock Park in decades, the project includes the building of a passive recreation area and veterans’ memorial near Bergenline Avenue, new ball fields near Woodcliff Avenue, a new comfort station, new walking/running paths and many landscaping and seating improvements in the 167-acre park.
Construction is scheduled to begin immediately and is last until the fall.
