LASALA, VERONICA SWEENEY

83, died January 13, 2015 at Green Acres Manor in Toms River. Born in Bayonne, she resided in Spotswood and Brick before settling in Whiting 14 years ago. Prior to retiring, she was a Lab Technician for E. R. Squibb & Son in North Brunswick, where she worked for 24 years. Veronica belonged to the Spotswood American Legion and was a parishioner of St. Dominic’s RC Church in Brick. She was also a member of the Bristol Myers Squibb Retirees Club. She was very involved with her family and acted as a Girl Scout leader, a PTA president, singer in the church choir, and also loved animals. She was predeceased by her first husband George Peter Sweeney in 1973. Surviving is her husband Vito LaSala; daughters Mary Catherine Sweeney (John Whalen) and Colleen (Thomas) Gahrmann; granddaughters Mara & Mia Gahrmann; and step-children Vito LaSala, Jr., Nicoletta LaSala, and Veronica McLellan; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews and cousins.
