BAYONNE – The Port Authority of New York & New Jersey has announced Bayonne Bridge closures and traffic holds for this week.
The bridge will be closed Wednesday, Jan. 21 and Thursday, Jan. 22 from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m. the next day. The bridge will be closed from Friday, Jan. 23 at 11:59 p.m. until 11:59 p.m. Saturday. Closures are weather dependent.
Drivers are asked to use the Goethals Bridge as an alternate route.
Additionally, to facilitate pier segment delivery at worksites in Bayonne and Staten Island, N.Y., 20-minute traffic holds are scheduled for Wednesday, Jan. 21. If they occur, the holds will happen between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m., and at the top of the hour.
The closings are part of the authority’s “Raise the Roadway” navigational clearance project.
