KOVAL, JACK

Funeral services were held Dec. 5 for Jack Koval, 76, a lifelong resident of Jersey City. He passed away peacefully Dec. 1. He worked for the Jersey City Board of Education for numerous years, starting off as an English teacher in P.S. 37. While working as assistant principal in P.S. 15, Jack was promoted to principal. He finally retired as principal in P.S. 38 in 1991. He was devoted to his staff and students, and showed this during his daily activities at school. Jack loved to travel, read and was quite the conversationalist.
He was the son of the late Isadore and Rebecca Koval; brother of the late Robert Koval and Marilyn Koval; lifelong friend of Antonio Gonzalez; cousin of Marilyn Lipski-McMahon and husband Walter. Jack also leaves behind a group of friends that became Jack’s family, his former colleagues and students. Services arranged by the Riotto Funeral Home and Cremation Company, Jersey City.
