— (Ziggy) passed away on November 13. Born in 1932 to Zygmund and Mary (nee: Nowicki) Mackiewicz, Ziggy was a lifelong resident of Bayonne. Ziggy was the husband of Irene (nee: Ward), and the father of four children and their spouses, Robert, Thomas and wife Amy (nee: Nalitt), Nancy and husband Allan Weinstein, and Susan and husband Rafeal P. Ruiz. He was grandfather to Jessica and Julie Weinstein, Sigmund Alexander, Benjamin Thomas and Jacob Raphael Ruiz. Ziggy was predeceased by his siblings, Helen Kuchinski, Mildred Mackiewicz, Irene Crotty, Stanley Mackiewicz, John Mackiewicz, Raymond Mackiewicz and survived by his twin sister, Joan Gunshefski and husband Al and brother Edward Mackiewicz. He also was uncle to many nieces and nephews. Viewing on Wednesday, November 19, 2014 from 4 to 8 p.m. only at G. KEENEN O’BRIEN Funeral Home, 984 Avenue C. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, November 2, 2014 at 11 a.m. at St. Vincent’s Church. Interment to follow at Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Wrightstown, NJ.
