BAYONNE – Royal Caribbean Cruise Line’s marquee ship Quantum of the Seas sailed out of Cape Liberty Cruise Port up and down the Atlantic Ocean on its inaugural voyage from Nov. 12 through 14.
The ship carried more than 3,500 passengers, made up mainly of travel agents and members of the media, to kick off the ship’s arrival at its Bayonne home port.
Two additional “inaugural sailings” had been scheduled for Nov. 14 to 16 and Nov. 16 to 18.
Quantum is the third largest cruise liner in the world, and the most technologically advanced, Royal Caribbean officials said.
The ship will be based at Cape Liberty Cruise Port until the spring, when it will relocate to its new home port in Shanghai, China.
Quantum’s sister ship Anthem of the Seas will call Bayonne home beginning November of next year.
