Humbled by your support

Dear Editor:

I am writing to express my deepest appreciation to the voters of Hoboken for entrusting me to serve another three years on the Board of Education. Weeks of knocking on hundreds of doors, hosting meet and greets in lobbies and attending various events around Hoboken, gave me the opportunity to speak to so many residents regarding our district. What I enjoyed most was listening to what our neighbors thought about the district and how it could be improved. I am grateful that I can continue to address those concerns as a trustee of the board.
It is with a heavy heart I will not continue to serve with Frances Rhodes Kearns, who was an absolute fighter for the students for the last 12 years. I will miss Fran immensely as my fellow fiscal watchdog. I hope that all the candidates will stay involved as many important issues were brought to the forefront in this campaign and need to be addressed. I thank all of them for their efforts and congratulate both Monica Stromwall and Sharyn Angley on the victories. With so many campaign workers and volunteers, I would especially like to thank Council members Theresa Castellano and Michael Russo, Freeholder Anthony Romano, Frank Raia, Michele Dubreuil, Hovie Forman, Jo Ann Kemp, Britney Montgomery and Jude Fitzgibbons for all their efforts.
I look forward to the challenges ahead. Election time is always exciting, but now it’s time to roll up my sleeves and get back to work to ensure that the education of all children is achieved. As always, feel free to contact me at Peter.Biancamano@hoboken.k12.nj.us with any questions/comments, I am at your service.

Sincerely,
Peter Biancamano
Hoboken Board of Education member
