Johnson to Aguilar ignites Chargers

After slipping to (1-1), the Bengals set their sights on downing the (0-2) Chargers in a JCC of Bayonne Indoor Flag Football week two tussle. As the Bengals searched for a spark, the Chargers caught fire with Kevin Aguilar cashing in on the games first play. Up 6-0, the Chargers’ defense made it 8-0 by pouncing on the Bengals’ runner for a safety. With momentum on their side, the Chargers stretched their lead to 16-0 as Aguilar notched his second TD catch while James Johnson bulled in the two point conversion. As the Chargers piled up points, the Bengals finally hit their mark with Harsh Easwar hauling in his first TD of the season. Up 16-6, the Chargers pushed on as the unstoppable combo of Johnson to Aguilar once again rang up points with Aguilar’s long TD catch and Johnson’s 2 point sprint to take a 24-6 lead. Poised to narrow the gap, the Bengals’ offense fell prey to the Chargers’ pass coverage as Jalen Nash pilfered an arrant pass attempt. One down later, the Chargers surged ahead 32-6 on a James Johnson TD run and Jaden Subacz’s diving two point snare. Down by a heap, the Bengals’ offense settled down as Drew Radil hit Ian Giron, Kyle Arano, and Alex Camacho on short passes to set up a TD dart to Jared Radil to make it 32-12, Chargers. After halting the Chargers’ offense, the Bengals began to march once more with Andres Giron and Harsh Easwar running the ball but the drive fell short as the Chargers captured the victory 32-12.
