Spreading the news

Dear Editor:
The Hoboken Early Childhood Advisory Council (HECAC) is a group of parents and community volunteers who are active participants in the assessment of needs and resources, as it pertains to the implementation of high quality preschool through third grade programs. HECAC enlists, promotes, and supports collaboration between the Early Childhood Education Program and the community. HECAC works closely with the Early Childhood Education Director, the Community and Parent Involvement Specialist, and the Early Childhood Education Program Providers in order to achieve our goals.
In recent months, HECAC collaborated with Hoboken High School students in Mr. Doug MacAulay and Ms. Rachel Grygiel’s Sports and Television Journalism class to produce a promotional video about the Early Childhood Education Program. This video showcases PreK4 students from Ms. Kimberly Mara’s class engaged in learning centers and includes two parent testimonials from Alexandra Sung Kim and David Tornabene about the strengths of the program. Many thanks are due to the talented Hoboken High School student journalists, Rahmel Mixson and Ricardo Figueroa, for their work on completing the video. This video is featured on the Hoboken District website in the slideshow at the top of the page.
We wanted to reach out to your readers in order to spread the news about this wonderful video. The Early Childhood Education Program is a tremendous asset to the City and we are excited to share more information about it with the community.
